Trip to Stonehenge

Hi everyone, for this blog post I am documenting my trip to Stonehenge and the nearby town of Salisbury!
I went to Stonehenge with a group of other exchange students and it was so cool! To get here you need to take a train from Brighton to Salisbury. This is quite a long train ride, taking about 3.5 hours. I recommend buying your train tickets as a group or using your railcard for a discount. Once you get to Salisbury, there is a bus right outside the train station that will take you to Stonehenge. We bought our tickets for Stonehenge online in advance and we assumed that this bus ride from Salisbury to Stonehenge was included in the ticket price, but this was not true! So we ended up spending more money than we originally planned on which was a bummer. There is no other way to get to Stonehenge unless you take a taxi, so we did not have any other option besides taking the bus. Once we got to Stonehenge and checked in at the ticket counter you have the option of walking to the stones or taking another bus (this one is included in the ticket price, thankfully!). What I didn’t expect to see once we got to the stones was fields full of sheep surrounding us. This was so crazy and so cute! The stones themselves are absolutely massive, pictures don’t really do them justice. Also, I thought you were able to get close to the stones but actually they are completely roped off and you can only walk on a path surrounding them. We took lots of pictures and then we headed back into Salisbury to walk around the town and get some food. This was a great day trip and I would definitely recommend checking out Stonehenge if it interests you at all!
